The dam of Thermi is particularly popular with visitors in the spring and summer as it offers peace and tranquility. Although in the past the place could only see a small number of visitors, in 1992 the Municipality of Thermi constructed a dam in the river bed of the stream.
The dam is located within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Thermi, specifically in Vathylakkos stream. It belongs to the catchment of Anthemounta where a water reservoir to enrich the area has been created. Eventually, the area was transformed into a highly aesthetic recreation area.
The area covers 50 hectares with pine trees and cypresses. It extends northeast of Thermi village and west of Triodio village. It connects with both villages with asphalted road which starts from the center of Thermi, passes near the dam and ends up at the village of Triodio.
In the recreation area you will find a picnic space, a playground and a place where cultural events take place in the summer. If you are a fan of outdoor activities, here you can go hiking, jogging and horse-riding.
